About PSLE English
“I think I’ll need more pages because I have quite a lot of content to put in,” one of the writers said, before explaining at length her plan for the section she was writing on.
“That’s a great flow of content. The topic development is good as well. Give me some time. I’ll see what I can do to free up a few more pages for your section,” the editor replied.
It was a warm, sunny afternoon in March 2021. The team was at a meeting to share updates and discuss about the latest title to be published. It has always been a difficult balancing act in print publishing – between having so much content to share and having to limit those content to the number of physical pages allowable for a single title.
“Why don’t we explore the possibility of online packages or even courses? We won’t be bound by the number of pages. And I can think of so many benefits of bringing the content online!” another writer suggested.
It was this impromptu suggestion which sparked off a series of discussion in the months thereafter. Online lessons and courses gained much global traction during the lockdowns of 2020 and continue to shape the education landscape worldwide. It seemed to be a good time to jump on the bandwagon, so we decided to venture into this new market outside of print publishing.
Our very first PSLE English online module – Reading Aloud for Paper 4 Oral Communication – was launched in April 2022. Our team continues to put in our best efforts to creating more impactful content for students and teachers. Our team has also put together a series of webpages with free content to support students’ learning. This can be accessed from our Home page.
